Sustainability

Ever since we laid the foundation for this natural gem, we have invested heavily in sustainability.

To use our resources responsibly in order to protect the environment and future generations. Every little helps – from recycling and energy-saving behaviour to supporting sustainable products. Together, we can create a future worth living in!

We are committed to continuously optimising our processes and the use of our resources in order to steadily raise our sustainability standards.

Going forward, our goal remains to continue advancing sustainability in all our processes.

Solar energy

We had already started using solar energy to heat our hot water at our Apart Central.

This solar system was incorporated into the new building at Naturjuwel.

Heat recovery

We use this energy to heat our water in a way that conserves resources.

In recent years, we have taken various measures to continuously improve our sustainability standards. These include, amongst other things, heat recovery: all appliances that generate heat – such as refrigeration units in the kitchen or at the buffet – are used in such a way that the waste heat produced is efficiently recovered.

Save water

By using special water-saving nozzles in all showers and taps, we are optimising our water consumption and encouraging a mindful approach to this valuable resource.

Doing the washing

All laundry is washed in-house using precisely measured, resource-efficient detergents.

This not only reduces our use of chemicals, but also cuts down on the number of delivery journeys, which further improves our carbon footprint.

Photovoltaics

Since September 2024, a solar power system has been helping us to generate electricity in an environmentally friendly way

In this way, we make efficient use of renewable energy sources and make a further contribution to reducing our CO2 footprint

Freshness and quality over quantity

To prevent food wastage and ensure we always offer the freshest produce, whilst at the same time minimising food waste

We avoid single-use plastic for drinks and are working to use the most sustainable alternatives possible for our packaging too. We process fresh ingredients on the spot and prepare them fresh, which not only guarantees the highest quality but also reduces food waste to a minimum.

At the breakfast buffet, we adhere to the principle of ‘freshness and quality over quantity’. Rather than preparing excessive amounts, we prefer to top up the dishes as and when needed to avoid food waste and ensure we always offer the freshest possible food.

Digitalisation

Since December 2025, we have further digitised our reception processes and are therefore making a greater effort to reduce our paper consumption.

For some time now, we have also made a conscious decision to stop printing hotel brochures.

Mobility

We also encourage our staff to travel to work in an environmentally friendly way.

We also offer our guests the option of charging their vehicles at three electric charging points.
