Due to popular demand, we decided in July 2023 to expand our culinary concept to include à la carte half board.

We have been successfully implementing this since the summer and have now decided to offer it to our guests in winter too.

We hope we can offer our guests yet another highlight and will be delighted if this is so well received.

In June 2023, we decided that it was finally time to renovate our bedrooms in the apartments and adapt them to the style of the rooms and suites.

Our bathrooms have also been given more storage space and new bathroom furniture.

In this way, we are creating even more comfort for our apartment guests for a relaxing vacation in the natural jewel.

"We need more space"

As we have continued to refine and expand our a la carte menu in recent years and the concept has been very well received by our guests, it was clear to us - we need more space.

Of course, such a concept change also requires a structural change in our hotel.

That's why we decided to expand our kitchen in July 2020, as we needed more cold rooms and storage space. As part of the kitchen expansion, we also decided to remodel our breakfast buffet.

Despite the difficult situation as to whether we were allowed to open at all in winter (due to the corona pandemic, the 2020/21 winter season was also canceled), we took the plunge in autumn 2020.

As a result, our breakfast buffet is now twice as big as before and our kitchen has been expanded to include several cold rooms, a cold store, a freezer, a larger washing-up and dishwashing area and some storage rooms.

We are very proud of our renovation and are delighted that our new breakfast buffet is highly appreciated by our guests.

Shortly after our hotel opened, our guests were keen to have dinner at our hotel.

We therefore tried out a buffet concept in the second winter season (2017/18).

In the middle of the 2018 summer season, however, we decided to adapt our concept further at short notice and switched to à la carte. From July 2018, our guests were able to choose dishes from our a la carte menu and found this concept idea very successful.

In April 2016, the time had come and construction work could finally begin. From a dream, hard work and a great deal of optimism, the hotel Das Naturjuwel was created in 2016.
The new jewel in Fiss opened its doors on 22.12.2016 and now offers its guests a dream vacation home with exclusive comfort.

In 2012, son Arno Kathrein took over the Apart Central from his father Walter Kathrein.

He soon began planning with the hotel.

In the idyllic, small mountain village of Fiss, the young couple Maria and Sebastian Kathrein realized their dream of opening their own guesthouse in 1949 and were one of the first in the village to offer guest rooms for 2 to 3 people. This laid the foundation stone for today's Hotel Das Naturjuwel. But before that happened, his son Walter Kathrein converted the small guesthouse into Apart Central in 1980. Initially with three vacation apartments, it was soon extended. With the expansion of the garage and the attic, two more apartments, today's Apartment 1 and 4, were created to accommodate the numerous guests.
